With good transport links to the Medway area, Maidstone, and London, the 30 unit business park has opened up opportunity for businesses to invest in the local community, as well as the island's future.
Challenge
The units range in size from 1,000 sq ft, to 32,000 sq ft, constructed in two phases from 2023-2024.
Norfolk's premier roofing and cladding contractor Gale Construction were contracted for the exterior cladding, opting to use the Euroclad Elite built-up system and Kingspan's Quadcore KS1000RW panels for the roof, and KS1000MR Micro Rib panels on the walls.
Solution
Being so close to the coast, Gale Construction required a solution that would provide corrosion resistance to the harsh environmental conditions posed from the atmosphere.
As a component supplier of the Euroclad Elite system, we provided the fasteners for the Elite build-up, supplying certified and quality DrillFast A4/316 grade stainless steel fasteners as part of the full package.
Also utilised within the build were our DrillFast low profile A4/316 stainless steel composite panel fasteners, lacquered to the building colours. Alongside these fasteners, A4/316 stainless steel MatchFast bi-hex fasteners in two different ranges were used, to self-drill through up to 5mm and up to 15mm steel (our MF5 and MF15 fasteners).
A4/316 grade steel matched the coastal location, meaning the highest levels of corrosion resistance to enable complete construction security and peace of mind for the building's lifetime.
