subcontractor Sub contractor: Blade Roofing
calendar Completion Date: 15 Nov 2024
The UK Greetings HQ in Dewsbury required a re-roof to remove the existing non-compliant ACM panels and replace them with safe and secure composite panels to suit the longevity of the building.

Challenge

Blade Roofing were contracted to undertake the cladding works, being presented with significant challenges due to the removal of the ACM and the stringent safety standards that had to be followed. The site's tight nature demanded meticulous planning and organisation for deliveries, with full cooperation from all stakeholders from the project's inception to its completion.

Additionally, the building needed to remain operational during the re-roofing works - which required careful coordination to ensure minimal disruption. Given this is a card factory, maintaining a watertight environment at all times was crucial.

Solution

The solution we provided for Blade Roofing was our MatchFast composite fasteners in A2/304 stainless steel (suiting the 115mm thick QuadCore panels), with the necessary secondary stitcher fasteners to suit, all coloured to Gull Grey to match the panel colour.

"We are absolutely delighted with the successful delivery of this project. Despite facing significant challenges, we overcame design constraints and completed the works while navigating complex access restrictions. Notably, we accomplished this while keeping the factory's production fully operational. For these reasons, we have proudly nominated this project for an NFRC award.

We also extend our gratitude to Fixfast for their support. Their provision of high-quality fixings played a crucial role in ensuring the project ran smoothly from start to finish."
