Suits 10-29mm diameter bonded sealing washers
Suitable for moulded head, hex head and low-profile fasteners
Side cut-outs to allow visual inspection
Rotating head allows for correct washer compression without damage to plastisol coated sheets
Made from heavy-duty anodised aluminium
When installing self-drilling fasteners, to ensure correct tightness of screw and compression of the sealing washer, it is essential to use a depth setting nosepiece. Correct depth setting provides a consistent suitable weather seal as well as preventing overdriving which can lead to thread-stripping of the fastener, head failure and damage to sheets. Under tightening is also prevented which can result in the EPDM rubber not compressing against the sheet adequately, resulting in an ineffective weather seal.
It’s important to set the nose cone to the correct depth before you start fastener installation. The best way to do this is to estimate the cone setting, using the cut-outs for visual aid, then drill a fastener in application, increasing or decreasing the setting slightly as required until you have achieved the correct depth. The ideal depth is the washer being compressed to 2 thirds of its original state.
