It's no surprise - as a fastener manufacturer - how much of a staunch supporter we are of promoting what tends to be the underdog component in construction: the humble fixing.
Yet the reality is much more serious: choosing the correct - or incorrect - fixing, can impact every other part of the construction.
After the Building Safety Act of 2022 set out the clear responsibilities of all involved parties, our role as a component manufacturer and therefore supplier to the construction industry means our responsibility to provide you with all the required information to make an informed decision has been brought into the spotlight.
That's why we took the decision to update our Specification Guide for 2024 and how specification happens today. Setting out the basic principles of building envelope fastener performance - including how to approach British standards and regulations when it comes to fasteners, we aim to live up to our 'Maximum reliability, minimum fuss' promise by breaking down what it means to specify fasteners correctly.
Using the incorrect fixing could compromise the whole building's lifetime value, so the importance of getting it right can't be overstated. Enabling the construction of better, safer buildings starts with the correct specification of building envelope fasteners.
